About Ruth Glover

Author and Speaker, Ruth Glover

I’m originally from Central Ohio, moving to the South as soon as I could. Before I landed in Dallas, I lived in Ohio, Michigan, Georgia, Virginia, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. My husband and I lived in Dallas for many years before we moved to Katy, Texas five years ago to be near family.

I’m married and have four adult children and ten grandchildren. I attended Baldwin-Wallace College, Ohio State University, University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and University of Minnesota, which helped me become who I am today.

Writing articles for publication arrived as a need for my clients, when I worked for technology companies, as a recruiter and human resource consultant. I left Corporate America to write full-time.

When our four almost-adult children were leaving home, my husband and I had more time to travel. Maybe I could entice others to travel.

It worked! I wrote my memoir (Gift of the Suitcase) the first year I left my consulting business and began writing the travel articles. We loved traveling abroad, and throughout the US. I published travel articles in newspapers, magazines, and other publications. For example, I wrote about Jefferson, Texas, a favorite North Texas town, and Nocona, where baseball gloves are made. When we moved to Katy, Texas, a suburb of Houston, I switched to writing about little south Texas towns, like La Grange, Rockport, and Burton.

Most recently, I wrote Coping: The Many Faces of Love and Care, quite different from travel writing. I felt the need to write about our journeys caring for our loved ones. I knew the risks but recognized in my heart that the book needed to be written.

Note: Another Ruth Glover(Author) lived in Saskatchewan, Canada.
