My dog, named Fargo, is Vice-President of Business Advice for Career Consultations. He’s the “top dog” in the company. Fargo’s business acumen shows me daily how to be a better person in the business world. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, employed, unemployed or retired, his “top 12 list” may brighten your day.
1. Look sorrowful and apologetic when you make a mistake.
2. Learn new tricks to obtain treats.
3. Plan for necessities, when you leave the office to do business.
4. Stop for a little rest and relaxation during the day.
5. Be friendly, but alert at all times for others who may want to steal your toys.
6. Loyalty is a great virtue.
7. Know when it’s time for dinner. You need to eat regularly.
8. Don’t take life too seriously. Make sure the boss laughs periodically.
9. Don’t let size or pedigree hinder your confidence, especially with the big “dawgs.”
10. Understand when others are sad and cheer them up.
11. Sit on the boss’ lap when you need a little extra hug.
And for sure….
12. Don’t bark when the client is on the phone.
Fargo knows how to win hearts (customers), bark when necessary (avoiding hazards) but is not so good with the financials. While his business advice is lacking on spread sheets, his business advice never waivers on the important aspects of life.
