Pre-Screen or Global Entry

Lake Louise

Prescreen

Where will you travel this year? Will you fly? Do you have your TSA PreScreen card and number? It costs $85. Complete the form at  https://www.tsa.gov/precheck/schedule and register for the meeting for fingerprints and photograph. It’s super easy. You can see the details when you login to the Transportation Security Administration site. Once you establish your number, you can add it on your airline reservation and, voila, you may not have to take your shoes off, nor wait more than a few minutes in line.

Global Entry

I encourage you to purchase the Global Entry number; we live in a global society. Chances are likely you will travel to another country within the next few years. Your job may require it. Your spouse may push for it. Your wealthy adult children may offer your entire family a trip on a Disney Voyage in the Caribbean.

Canada requires a passport, as does Mexico and the Caribbean. The Global Entry is good to have at land borders, as well as using at the kiosks to expedite your re-entry into the US.

Global Entry costs $100 but it includes Pre-Entry in the US. Both cards last for five years.

Do you know you can purchase river cruises cheaper for Europe than in the US at this time? Cruise lines are a wonderful way to relax, meet fascinating people, and learn more about the foreign cultures. Appreciate the treatment of shorter lines when you travel abroad.

Your job may require a passport. Don’t forget to keep your Passport up to date, too. We seem too busy all the time. Mark your calendar to take time now to apply for Global Entry to prepare for upcoming opportunities.
